Applicability of these Standards

Section 250 Section 250.2410  Applicability of these Standards a)         These standards shall apply to all new hospitals and major alterations and additions to existing hospitals.  (Major alterations are those that are not defined as minor alterations in Section 250.2420(b).)  Hospitals shall refer to the Health Facilities and Services Review  Board for appropriate action. b)         In the case of types of hospitals not specifically treated in this Part, the standards for general hospitals shall apply, with allowance being made for the specialized or unusual requirements of the particular hospital involved. c)         If a hospital operates a hospital-based outpatient surgery program in a building that does not meet the requirements of Subpart T, that building shall comply with Subparts I, J, K and L of the Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center Licensing Requirements.  The building housing the hospital's outpatient surgery program shall be located on the hospital's campus or within 250 yards of the hospital.
