410 IAC 7-26-239 CIP equipment

Sec. 239. (a) CIP equipment must meet the characteristics specified under section 238 of this rule and be designed and constructed so that: (1) cleaning and sanitizing solutions circulate throughout a fixed system and contact all interior food contact surfaces; and (2) the system is self-draining or capable of being completely drained of cleaning and sanitizing solutions. (b) CIP equipment that is not designed to be disassembled for cleaning must be designed with inspection access points to ensure that all interior food contact surfaces throughout the fixed system are being effectively cleaned. (c) For purposes of this section, a violation of subsection (a)(1) is a PF item. (d) For purposes of this section, a violation of subsection (a)(2) or (b) is a core item.
