820 IAC 4-4-7 Specific curriculum for electrologists

Sec. 7. (a) The following are the requirements for electrology training: Subject Theory and Demonstration Practice Actual Practice Total Hours Statutes and Rules 5 5 Sanitation 31 31 Sterilization 5 5 Diseases/disorders 5 5 Basic electricity 5 5 Basic chemistry 3 3 Causes of hair growth 8 8 Anatomy and physiology 20 20 Understanding electrology treatments 20 20 Modalities of electrology 82 116 198 (1) Single needle electrolysis (2) Manual thermolysis (3) Automatic thermolysis (4) The blend Total 184 116 300 (b) Students are required to complete not fewer than the number of actual practice performances provided for in the progress report required by section 12 of this rule. (c) All electrology services must be done on live models. (d) Students may not work on customers of the beauty culture school until they have completed a total of forty (40) hours. Customers shall be rotated according to the students' needs for practice on live models.
