LAC 46:LXX.102. Purpose

A. The purposes of these rules and regulations are as follows: 1. to establish standards for recommendation by the Board of Examiners of Bar Pilots for the Port of New Orleans to the governor of the state of Louisiana for appointment as bar pilots who, pursuant to R.S. 34:941 et seq., have the duty to pilot sea-going vessels into and out of the entrances of the Mississippi River and into and out of the entrances of all other waterways connecting the Port of New Orleans with the outside waterways of the Gulf of America.
