A. LEAs shall maintain permanent records of each student's placement, K-12. Each record shall be maintained as a part of the student's cumulative file. B. Student records for the purposes of these guidelines shall include: 1. course grades; 2. scores on LEAP assessments; 3. scores on local testing programs and screening instruments necessary to document the local criteria for promotion; 4. information (or reason) for student placement (see definition of placement); 5. documentation of results of student participation in remedial and alternative programs; 6. special education documents as specified in the approved IDEA-Part B, LEA application; 7. a copy of the letter informing the parent of any planned academic support strategies to be provided to the student; 8. a statement regarding written notification to parent concerning retention and due process procedures.
