LAC 28:XXXIX.509. Local Options

A. In addition to the statewide mandatory criteria for student placement, local school boards, by written local policies, may also establish local criteria to be used in determining student placement. Such criteria shall be compatible with the statewide criteria established in Chapter 5, §501 and shall be submitted to the LDE as part of the local pupil progression plan. B. At the option of local school systems, the plans may include other factors to be considered in pupil placements. C. In conjunction with the enumerated legislated policies and DOE directives, LEAs may include evaluative criteria in their local pupil progression plans. If other criteria are used, the pupil progression plan must so specify.
