Emergency Services

(A) The MassHealth agency covers emergency services provided in a hospital emergency department without prior authorization. (B) For services provided in the emergency department, handwritten or time-stamped documentation of the length of the member's stay in the emergency room must be kept in the member's record or on an easily accessible hospital log.
