Insurance Producer and Public Adjuster Continuing Education Requirements

nonresident insurance producers and public adjusters with non-reciprocal licenses.
RE:
Insurance Producer and Public Adjuster Continuing Education requirements
pursuant to §§ 10-116 and 10-408 of the Insurance Article, Annotated Code of
Maryland.

The purpose of this bulletin is to notify producers and public adjusters of new continuing
education requirements enacted by the General Assembly in Senate Bill 29 this past session.
(Acts 2019, Chapter 102).
Effective January 1, 2020, pursuant to new § 10-116(a)(2), an insurance producer shall complete
required continuing education not later than 15 days before the expiration date of the insurance
producer’s license.
Additionally, effective January 1, 2020, pursuant to new § 10-408(e)(2), a public adjuster shall
complete the required continuing education not later than 30 days before the expiration date of
the public adjuster’s license.
