Eligibility—deemed resignation

Eligibility—deemed resignation. If a notary public does not reside in this State, that notary public will be deemed to have resigned from the office of notary public as of the date the residency ceases or employment within this State terminates. A notary public who resigns that notary public's commission in accordance with this section must notify the Secretary of State in writing or electronically within thirty (30) calendar days of the effective date of the resignation.
