Access by Health Professional Schools

Access by Health Professional Schools. The Department may consider the effect of the proposed means of delivery of health services on the clinical needs of health professional training programs in the area in which the services are to be provided. Where proposed health services are to be available in a limited number of facilities, the extent to which any health professional school in the area will have access to the services for training purposes shall be considered. The special needs and circumstances of entities that provide a substantial portion of their services or resources to individuals not residing in the health services area in which the entities are located — including medical and other health professional schools, multi-disciplinary clinics, and specialty centers — may also be considered.
