Expedited Relative: Pre-Placement Activities – No child may be placed in an Expedited Relative Foster Home until MDCPS has: 1. Completed the Expedited Packet which includes the following: a. Relative Placement Application b. Child Abuse Central Registry Screening. Central registry checks have to be done completed in all states where the prospective foster parents and all adults (18 and over) living in the home lived for during the past five years. c. Background Screenings Form d. Relative Placement Checklist e. Safe Sleep Education Acknowledgment f. Statement of Understanding g. Confidentiality Statement h. Corporal Punishment Policy i. Relative Resource Home Requirements j. Review Board Payment Schedule/Process k. Guidelines for Purchases l. Guidelines for Interim Disaster Preparedness Plan 2. Completed local city and county background checks on any adult age eighteen (18) and over who is in the home. If placement in an Expedited Relative Foster Home occurs after hours, MDCPS will document verbal confirmation from the law enforcement agency that the local background checks have been completed. MDCPS will run the local law enforcement background check the next business day and include it in the Expedited packet. Prior to leaving the child in the home, the Safety/Wellbeing specialist must ensure all safety issues are addressed and documented as part of the packet.
