WIGEN - COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE RE: HEALTH INSURANCE POOL LEGISLATION DATE: JULY 10, 1981 This bulletin is to inform you of newly enacted legislation (HB 1058) in the State of North Dakota (North Dakota Century Code Chapter 26-16.1) to be effective January 1, 1982. This legislation establishes an intercarrier health insurance pool and mandates that all companies licensed or authorized to do business in this state with an annual accident & sickness premium volume of at least $100,000 derived from residents of North Dakota will be a participating member of the comprehensive health association. Furthermore, the law establishes a board of directors of the association composed of ten individuals representing the ten participating member insurers with the highest annual premium volume for the previous calendar year. The initial meeting will be July 30, 1981, to begin to form the association and to comply with the law by January 1, 1982.
