Bulletin No. 03-003 May 12, 2003 REQUIRED NOTICES FOR DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION The provisions under certain Sections of the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC), in Chapter 679B, require that notices be sent to consumers under certain circumstances. Specifically, NAC 679B.685 requires that institutions, agents, or insurance support organizations that collect, receive, or maintain information in connection with insurance transactions involving Nevada residents, send a notice explaining the company’s practices for gathering information. Section 2 identifies the information required to be in the notice. NAC 679B.842 requires that an initial notice be sent by licensees (as defined in NAC 679B.824) regarding the disclosure of nonpublic personal financial information. NAC 679B.844 requires that the financial privacy notice be sent annually. NAC 679B.846 identifies the information to be included in the notice. The required notices, as cited above, may be combined into one notice provided that the required information under all applicable codes is contained in the notice. If only one notice is used to satisfy both NAC 679B.685 and 679B.842, the notice must be sent annually. ____________________________________ ALICE A.
