Definitions.

As used in NAC 683A.450 to 683A.560 , inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires: 1. “Actuary” means a person who is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Actuaries. 2. “Insurer” means a person who holds a certificate of authority in this State pursuant to NRS 680A.060 . 3. “Underwrite” means the authority to assume or reject risks on behalf of the insurer. REVISER’S NOTE Pursuant to the provisions of NRS 0.024 , the former provisions of NAC 683A.450 contained a definition that was deemed duplicative of that set forth in NRS 683A.060 and was subsequently removed from NAC 683A.450 in accordance with ch. 56, Stats. 2009, which contains the following provision not included in NRS: “Sec. 2. The Legislative Counsel shall, in preparing supplements to the Nevada Administrative Code, appropriately change, move or remove any words and terms in the Nevada Administrative Code in a manner that the Legislative Counsel determines necessary to ensure consistency with the provisions of section 1 of this act [ NRS 0.024 ].”
