(1) A hunter may not take any big game animal, other than white-tailed deer, when the hunter or the animal are within 250 yards of any bait or bait site. (2) Feeding, baiting, and hunting over feed or bait is prohibited within the CWD Management Zone (as outlined in Rule 1660-01-34) and will be prohibited in any additional county that has a positive CWD detection. TWRA maintains a list of CWD-positive counties on its web site. (3) In accordance with Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission Proclamation 24-15, there is no placement of bait within the proclaimed No Feeding Zone in Gatlinburg. (4) Hunting over bait is prohibited on private inholdings which are bound on all sides by Wildlife Management Area or Public Hunting Area property. (5) Big Game Depredation permits will not be authorized for wildlife damage occurring to feeders and/or bait sites. (6) The Agency may, without refund, suspend the use of a Deer Bait Privilege License to prevent the spread of diseases among wildlife or in the event the presence of bait is creating a public safety concern by concentrating and/or habituating wildlife. Such suspension will be announced in a news release.
