In accordance with the Texas Insurance Code, Article 21.55 §5(d), the Texas Department of Insurance has determined the weather-related event occurring on February 9 and February 10, 1998, in the counties of Angelina, Jasper, Taylor, Hardin, Jefferson, Orange, San Augustine, Polk, Medina, Frio, Harris, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Liberty, Chambers, Fort Bend, Atascosa, Shelby, Tyler, Trinity and Bexar are catastrophes for the purpose of claims processing. Claims resulting directly from the above defined catastrophe shall be subject to the additional time periods allowed by Article 21.55 §5(d), Texas Insurance Code for the processing of claims.
