THE STATE OF WYOMING Mark Gordon Insurance Department Jeffrey P. Rude Governor Commissioner 106 E. 6th Ave. ▪ Cheyenne, Wyoming 82002 February 23, 2021 Remote Proctoring Approved for Licensing Exams The Wyoming Department of Insurance is pleased to announce that effective immediately, candidates for insurance licensure will be permitted to schedule their licensing exams online through our testing vendor, Pearson VUE, and their OnVUE online proctoring service. Online testing will begin on March 2, 2021. “The weather and long distances in our state can, at times, make it difficult for some Wyomingites to travel to exam centers,” said Licensing Supervisor Bryan Stevens. “With online proctoring, candidates will no longer need to leave their homes to take their exam. Our goal was to make taking exams for residents in Greybull and Lander as convenient as it is for residents in Laramie and Casper.” OnVUE online proctoring from Pearson VUE allows candidates to continue making meaningful progress in their careers by offering licensing exams from home. Candidates provide their own computer and a private room to take the exam, making licensing examinations more accessible than ever and allowing testing programs to reach more candidates across the country. OnVUE leverages industry-leading Artificial Intelligence coupled with live proctoring through the webcam and microphone to protect the exam experience. “The past year has shown us that we need to have flexibility to adapt to new circumstances,” said Stevens, “This is a permanent change to our licensing exam availability. With the proliferation of the needed technology and the wide open spaces of Wyoming, we feel that remote proctoring is a solution that perfectly meets the needs of our residents.” For more information please contact Bryan Stevens, Licensing Supervisor at (307) 777-7344 or bryan.stevens@wyo.gov Administration (307) 777-7401 ▪Fax (307) 777-2446 ▪http://doi.wyo.gov/ ▪Licensing (307) 777-7319 ▪Consumer Affairs (307) 777-7402
