STATE OF CONNECTICUT INSURANCE DEPARTMENT www.ct.gov/cid P.O. Box 816 Hartford, CT 06142-0816 An Equal Opportunity Employer Bulletin L-9 November 25, 1998 Re: TERMINATION OF CLEARANCE LETTER The State of Connecticut Insurance Department will no longer issue Clearance Letters. Effective immediately, only Letters of Certification will be issued. Certification Letter requests must be specific as to whether or not the letter should display a cancel date. If the licensee asks us to cancel the existing Connecticut license, the Certification Letter is issued with a cancel date and a note verifying that the licensee was in good standing at the time license canceled. If a licensee does not specify a request for cancellation, a Certification Letter will be issued without a cancel date and licensee will remain active in Connecticut. Any licensee who requests a Certification Letter with a cancel date, and who wishes to maintain or reinstate his/her Connecticut license, must do so by submitting a new application and fees.
