SEC. 1334. EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN FORCES FROM EUROPEAN END STRENGTH LIMITATION. (a) Exclusion of Members Performing Duties Under Military-To-Military Contact Program.— Paragraph (3) of section 1002(c) of the Department of Defense Authorization Act, 1985 (22 U.S.C. 1928 note) is amended to read as follows: “(3) For purposes of this subsection, the following members of the Armed Forces are excluded in calculating the end strength level of members of the Armed Forces of the United States assigned to permanent duty ashore in European member nations of NATO: “(A) Members assigned to permanent duty ashore in Iceland, Greenland, and the Azores. “(B) Members performing duties in Europe for more than 179 days under a military-to-military contact program under section 168 of title 10, United States Code.”.
