SEC. 9107. REPORT ON IMPROVED BRAKE SYSTEMS FOR COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLES. Not later than January 30, 1991, the Secretary shall submit to Congress a report on whether or not commercial motor vehicles operating on any Federal-aid highway system should be equipped with improved brakes and brake systems in order to enhance the safe operation of such vehicles. Such report shall include an examination of available information and data on antilock systems, means of improving brake compatibility, and methods of ensuring the effectiveness of brake timing and the results of any field testing conducted by the Department of Transportation on brakes and brakes systems for commercial motor vehicles.
