Bulletin 15-12 Date: May 6, 2015 To: All Surplus Lines Brokers Re: Maryland Insurance Code §§2-206(1) and 3-322 Emergency Regulation on Claims Information for the Baltimore City Civil Unrest ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This bulletin hereby requests the State’s surplus lines brokers to provide the data regarding claims relating to the Baltimore City Civil Unrest pursuant to Maryland Insurance Code §§2- 206(1) and 3-322. The data shall be submitted for each surplus lines company the surplus lines broker represents, by line of business, for the City of Baltimore using the link to the Severe Event Data Collector below: https://www.mdinsurance.state.md.us/stormTracker/jsp/storm login.jsp Filers may access the electronic form using any computer that connects to the Internet after entering their assigned user IDs and passwords. Each broker will receive an email with the user ID and password by May 19, 2015. If, after submitting your data, the filer realizes that information provided was incomplete or incorrect, the company must contact the MIA via email at pcinform.mia@maryland.gov. Submission Deadlines are as follows: Data as of May 27, 2015 due June 10, 2015 Data as of June 27, 2015 due July 10, 2015 Data as of July 27, 2015 due August 10, 2015 If the surplus lines broker is unable to provide any or all the information, it must submit a detailed explanation as to why it is unable to provide this information and state what information it can provide. Supplied data is confidential commercial data protected under State Government Article, §10- 617(d), Annotated Code of Maryland, except when aggregated with data from all other insurers and surplus lines brokers in a manner that does not permit any individual company information to be identified.
