- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.3Alteration means a change in a boiler or pressure vessel that substantially alters
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.4Approved means approved by the Board
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.5Authorized Inspection Agency means one of the following:
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.6Advisory Committee means Technical Advisory Committee of Boiler and
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.7Board means the Mississippi State Department of Health
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.8Bureau means the Bureau of Environmental Health
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.9Boiler means a closed vessel in which water is heated, steam is generated, steam
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.10Power Boiler means a boiler in which steam or other vapor is generated at a
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.11High Pressure, High Temperature Water Boiler means a water boiler operating at
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.12Miniature Boiler means any boiler which does not exceed any of the following
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.13Heating Boiler means a steam boiler operated at pressures not exceeding 15 psig,
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.14Hot Water Supply Boiler means a boiler (including fired storage water heater):
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.15Electric Boiler means a boiler in which the source of heat is electricity
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.16Portable Boiler means an internally fired boiler which is primarily intended for
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.17Certificate of Competency means a certificate issued to a person who has passed
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.18Certificate Inspection means an inspection, the report of which is used by the
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.19Commission, National Board means the commission issued by the National Board
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.20Division means the Bureau of Environmental Health
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.21Department means the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Branch of the
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.22Condemned Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel that has
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.23Existing Installation means and includes any boiler or pressure vessel constructed,
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.24Inspection Certificate means a certification issued by the Chief Inspector for the
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.25Inspector means the Chief Inspector, or any Deputy Inspector or Special
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.26License means the boiler and pressure vessel inspector's license issued to
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.27Mississippi Special Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.28Mississippi Standard Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.29National Board means the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.30National Board Inspection Code means the Manual for Boiler and Pressure Vessel
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.31New Boiler or Pressure Vessel Installation means and includes all boilers or
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.32Nonstandard Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel that does
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.33Owner or User means any person, firm or corporation legally responsible for the
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.34Pressure Vessel means a vessel in which the pressure is obtained from an external
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.35PSIG means pounds per square inch gauge
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.36Reinstalled Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel removed
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.37Repair means work necessary to return a boiler or pressure vessel to a safe and
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.38Major Repair means a repair upon which the strength of a boiler or pressure
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.39Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel which as
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.40Standard Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel which bears
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.41Storage Tanks -- Hot Water Supply means those heated by steam or any other
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 1.3.42Underwriters' Laboratories means a nonprofit, independent organization testing
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.1.1Boilers and unfired pressure vessels to be installed for operation in Mississippi
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.1.2In addition, boilers and pressure vessels may bear the National Board stamping, or
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.1.3Pressure Piping -- (including welded piping) -- Piping external to power boilers
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.1.4
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.1.5Before secondhand equipment is installed, application for permission to install
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.1.6The assembly, maintenance, operation and testing of controls and safety devices
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.2.1On and after the effective date of the rules and regulations first promulgated by
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.2.2Power boilers and high pressure, high temperature water boilers shall receive a
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.2.3Heating boilers shall receive a certificate inspection biennially
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.2.4Pressure vessels subject to internal corrosion shall receive a certificate inspection
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.2.5Pressure vessels not subject to internal corrosion shall receive a certificate
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.2.6Nuclear vessels within the scope of this chapter shall be inspected biennially and
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.2.7The Board may, in its discretion, permit longer periods between certificate
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.3.1Certificate inspections shall be in accordance with the frequency established by the
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.3.2External inspections may be performed by inspector during reasonable hours and
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.3.3When as a result of external inspection or determination by other objective means it
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.4.1Examination for an inspector's certificate of competency in accordance with the
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.4.2An applicant for an examination shall have education and experience equal to at
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.5.1A fee of twenty-five dollars will be charged for each applicant taking the
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.6.1Upon request, a certificate of competency and an identification card shall be
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.7.1The applicant has satisfactorily passed the examination as set forth and paid the
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.7.2The applicant holds a valid commission or certificate of competency from a state
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.8.1Inspectors shall not engage in the sale of any article or device relating to boilers,
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.9.1Special Inspectors shall, within one year of the effective date of these rules and
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.9.2Except as provided in (e) below, subsequent inspections of both standard and
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.9.3Inspection reports, as required in (a) and (b) above, shall be submitted within
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.9.4When hazardous conditions affecting the safety of a boiler or pressure vessel are
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.9.5Owner-User Inspection Agencies may report subsequent inspections of both
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.10.1All insurance companies shall notify the Chief Inspector, within thirty days, of all
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.11.1
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.11.2If, upon inspection, a Special Inspector finds a boiler or pressure vessel to be
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.12.1Any person, firm, partnership or corporation operating pressure vessels in this
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.12.2Such application and registration shall show the name of such agency and its
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.12.3Each Owner-User Inspection Agency as required by the provisions of the Boiler
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.13.1If, upon an external inspection, there is evidence of a leak or crack, sufficient
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.14.1When an accident occurs which serves to render a boiler or pressure vessel
- 15 MAC Pt. 10, R. 2.15.1If a boiler or pressure vessel after inspection is found to be suitable and to
